Civil Engineer from Barranquilla, Colombia, with over 12 years of professional experience in construction and consultancy, primarily based in Bucaramanga, Colombia. Initiated professional practice in 2012 following the completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (First Cycle). Holds three Master’s degrees (Second Cycle): Structural Engineering (2015), Project Management (2021), and BIM Management (2023). Currently pursuing a Ph.D. at the University of Minho (Third Cycle), with research focused on bridge management using Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) and Digital Twin technologies. Areas of expertise include Building Information Modeling (BIM) applications, project management, structural BIM design, and bridge assessment. Worked as a Lecturer in Civil Engineering programs in Bucaramanga from 2013 to 2024, where he led the conceptual integration of BIM into structural design framework between 2019 and 2024, effectively bridging academic theory with industry practice. Additionally, he has lectured in postgraduate courses specializing in construction project supervision and management (2021-2024). Professional experience encompasses the design and execution of diverse infrastructure projects, including buildings, roads, bridges, and residential developments across Colombia (2012–2024). Most recently, he coordinated the design of residential projects during 2023 and 2024. His primary research interests are now in structural engineering, infrastructure management, and Digital Twin technologies. Outside of academia and engineering, he maintains a personal interest in soccer and long-distance running.
